What is Room Tone?
Room Tone is a Slack community for production accountants and finance professionals in the entertainment industry, complete with dedicated channels for job postings, conversation, and more. It’s integrated with The List, so members can get early access to jobs before they’re posted publicly.
Who can join?
To join Room Tone, you must be an accountant, controller, or clerk in the production industry. This includes professionals at all levels, from experienced keys to newcomers.
Membership requires a verifiable working credit. Please provide your LinkedIn profile or IMDB Pro listing as proof of your professional experience.
In order to be considered, all of the required membership fields must be completed. Incompletes and applications with fields marked “N/A” or “Skip” will be rejected.

What kind of topics can I discuss in the community?
Anything you want, as long as it’s relevant to production accounting. Users can discuss things like popular accounting software, the state of the industry, tips, tricks, and war stories. Just be sure to keep the conversation positive and productive.
Are there any specific community events or meetings?
Yes! Room Tone grants members first access to networking events and industry meetups—both online and in person. Members are also encouraged to organize their own events.
Is there a membership fee to join?
No. Membership in Room Tone is completely free.
Can you post anonymously in Room Tone?
No, all posts in Room Tone are attributed to real names. However, if you have a confidential question, you can always direct message other members privately in Slack.
